CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (Oct. 18, 2019) – The Chattanooga Convention and Visitors Bureau is shining a spotlight on three Chattanoogans who have served and continue to support the hospitality and tourism industry. The CVB congratulates the following leaders for their accomplishments and years of service:
- Bill Chapin, CEO and Chairman of the Board of See Rock City Inc. (SRC) – received Southeast Tourism Society’s (STS) Dorothy Hardman Spirit of STS Award at the recent Shining Example Award ceremony. As third-generation owner of Rock City, Chapin has spent 33 years living and breathing hospitality and sharing his visionary and innovative ideas to help Rock City continue to be one of Chattanooga’s top attractions.
- Darik Dawes, CEO of Dawes Hospitality Group – honored with the Tennessee Hospitality & Tourism Association’s (TNHTA) 2019 Tennessee Hotelier of the Year Award at the recent Governor’s Conference on Tourism. Dawes has spent more than 25 years working in the hospitality industry, owns the MainStay Suites in Chattanooga and is a business partner of the SpringHill Suites in North Chattanooga/Ooltewah and the newly opened Buddy’s Bar-b-q in East Ridge.
- Annie Still - retiring after 45 years of service in the hospitality industry. Still got her start in hospitality as director of sales (DOS) of The Sheraton Hotel, known today as the Doubletree Hotel in downtown Chattanooga. She has served the industry as the DOS at a variety of hotels in Chattanooga, including helping open the Holiday Inn-Convention Center (now Chattanooga Marriott) as its first employee. Still then worked for the Chattanooga Choo Choo and most recently, as DOS of the newly renovated Read House hotel.
