The Hunter Museum of American Art invites you to experience great local music and spectacular views with Bands on the Bluff, taking place the first Thursday of each month May-October. On the same evening as Throwback Thursday, Bands on the Bluff allows concert goers to enjoy the music and visit the current special exhibition for just $5 (free to members and children under 17 with a paying adult). In addition, a cash bar will be available during each concert. So come on out, enjoy views of beautiful downtown Chattanooga, and listen to great music. Check out the lineup below!

Big EasyBig Easy on the Bluff

Singer Mary Edwards and musicians Dexter Bell, Marcus Dotson and Yattie Westfield will perform a sultry mix of traditional jazz, neo-soul, R&B and funk. There will also be a painting demo and book signing by Josiah Golson as well as jazzy hands on activities for the entire family.

June 7

Asian InfusionAsian Infusion

Inspired by the "East Meets West" theme of the Hunter Museum's new exhibit of work by artist Karen LaMonte, this evening's event will have an Asian fusion theme. They’ll feature music from I Can Japan, themed activities and Asian inspired drinks at the cash bar and ice cream treats for the heat!

Psychedelic Summer

Charlie The Head will bring on the heat for some psychedelic fun. Enjoy live music, art activities and neon experiences. You'll also have access to our cash bar and tasty ice cream treats.

Dancing to Embodied Beauty

Dance to a new rhythm with an exhibit-inspired performance and a dance and music experience presented by the The Pop-Up Project, musician Carl Cadwell.

Sounds and Sights of the CityBands on the Bluff 2

Inspired by a collection of photographs of Chattanooga, The Hunter will celebrate the Chattanooga sound. They’ll have great live music by C-Grimey and others performing, as well as themed activities for all ages.

October 4

90's Flashback 90s Flashback

The Communicators will bring back the 90s as the Hunter closes out the Bands on the Bluff series with some flash back fun. Enjoy 90s music, hands on activities, and a cash bar featuring craft brews.
