Background: Rick Rushing always had music in his life from a child playing cello in elementary school to studying classical guitar at the University of Tennessee Chattanooga.  Still, the Blues runs deep in his genes as Rick is related to the late legend vocalist and musician Jimmy Rushing of the Count Basie Big Band. Rick learned how to play the Blues in the Scenic City and since has not slowed down the passion of the live performance that inspires others and has recorded two full length albums and a few acoustic EPs of original music.  

CD Release: The new CD set to release Thanksgiving night, 11/26, at JJ's Bohemia is a live recording and captures Rick Rushing & the Blues Strangers in full force. This new CD is a riding CD with plenty of guitar riffs and solid rhythm section grooves.
