What do you most love about Chattanooga?
All the outdoor recreation!
What is your favorite thing to do in your down time?
That’s a tossup between mountain biking and paddle boarding. It usually depends on the weather and season.
What Chattanooga experiences do you rave about to locals and visitors?
Nickajack Wildlife Refuge is one of my favorite paddling locales in the summer to watch thousands of endangered gray bats emerge at sunset. It’s a spectacular wildlife experience. There’s an observation deck - if you don’t have a boat you can still see the bats.
Mountain biking at Raccoon Mountain is must! The views are incredible, the workout is intense and the downhills are exhilarating! I also recommend 5 Points recreation area, Moonshine Trails and biology trails at white oak mountain for those seeking a less intense mountain bike experience.
Not to be missed is a whitewater rafting experience on the Ocoee River! Home to the 1996 Olympics you can embark on a 5 or 10 mile whitewater adventure with a trained guide and get the adrenaline rush of a lifetime!
Lastly, unique to the Chattanooga area is Lookout Mountain Flight Park where you can take flight with a trained guide and soar like a bird over Lookout Mountain. This hang-glide experience is absolutely breathtaking both for the views and the sensations! If you’re lucky, the guide will let you maneuver the hangglider and practice flying it yourself!
