Getting Around Chattanooga

Walking, biking, bussing, skipping, hopping. Getting around Chattanooga is easy!

Market Street and Broad Street run North to South from the river all the way to Lookout Mountain. So, if you ever find yourself saying, “where am I? What am I doing?” just navigate to one of those streets and you’ll be able to get your bearings.

Chattanooga has an incredibly walkable downtown and offers additional great ways to get around the city. So, ditch the car and ride the shuttle, walk, or easily rent a bike for the day as you enjoy Chattanooga.

The free electric shuttle covers downtown from the Southside District to the Riverfront, and additionally connects to the Southside, Northshore and St. Elmo neighborhoods. Downtown shuttle stops every 15 minutes, Monday-Friday, 6:30 a.m.-10 p.m., and later on Saturdays (Only open until 11pm on Saturdays. Sundays until 8:30pm). The Northshore and St. Elmo routes have varied hours.

Bike Chattanooga, the first citywide bike share system in the South, offers more than 400 bikes at 42 locations throughout the city. The easiest way to use the bikes is to download the PBSC app to purchase passes, unlock bikes, see bike availability, and more. Passes give you unlimited 60-minute trips; if you need more time, dock the bike and unlock another to continue riding without accumulating overage fees.
