Welcome to

Chattanooga!

We’re thrilled to host the Outdoor Writers Association of America (OWAA) Conference this August. Chattanooga is an outdoor lover’s dream, and we’ve already begun planning an incredible lineup of activities to make your visit unforgettable.

Whether you’re into hiking, paddling, or exploring the vibrant local culture, Chattanooga has something for everyone. Here are a few resources to help you start planning your adventure:

The Scenic City Awaits

Welcome to Chattanooga, a city with a story as inspiring as its views. Once known as the dirtiest city in America—a title broadcast by Walter Cronkite in the 1960s—Chattanooga has transformed into the Scenic City, celebrated by Outside magazine as the "Best Town Ever."

Get to know Chattanooga a little more and take some time to experience all the scenic city has to offer while you're here with the Outdoor Writers Association of America.
