The 2024 First Horizon Bank IRONMAN Chattanooga triathlon is unveiling an exciting new bike course that showcases Southeastern Tennessee like never before. Competitors will head onto US-27, journeying north through Red Bank and up to Soddy Daisy. The course includes three loops along US-27, featuring a dedicated lane for safety and offering stunning views of the Cumberland Plateau. With fresh pavement and 4,300 feet of elevation gain across 112 miles, this revamped route promises both a challenging ride and a visual treat for all participants.

Road Closures for a Smooth Ride 

To enhance the experience and ensure the safety of all participants, several road closures will be in effect during the event. 

US-27 North from Signal Mountain Blvd to Tsati Terrace will have the left lane closed for cyclists from 6 AM to 6 PM. There will also be detours for vehicular traffic at the following locations to accommodate athlete aid stations: 

  • Mountain Creek Rd 

  • Tsati Terrace 

These intersections will be monitored by law enforcement to ensure a safe transition for athletes. 

US-27 South from Tsati Terrace to Hwy 153 will similarly have the left lane closed for cyclists from 6 AM to 6 PM. Additionally, the following access points will be closed to vehicular traffic: 

  • Southbound US-27 from Hwy 153 to 4th Street 

  • South entrance ramps at Hwy 153, Mountain Creek Rd, Morrison Springs Rd, Signal Mountain Blvd, Dayton Blvd, and Manufacturers Road.
