1. Stop One
These rusted steel signs are sure to remind you where you are.
They welcome you from up high.
At eye level, too.
And are just a few feet from a center of honor.
Oh, the fun places you can go!
If you step inside, you can learn some cool facts,
And a tasty place to enjoy lunch at!
But first, what four syllable word do you see on the rusted signs?
2. Stop Two
Lemon-colored tools that sweep the sea,
In a rowboat's grasp, where they should be.
A trio of yellow on a rusted beam
Across from Cherry Garcia and Ameri-cone Dream.
3. Stop Three
Look for red bricks, tan bricks, too.
Then wander around back and step into shade...
There, you’ll find history not far away.
What figure looks like it walked out of a history book?
4. Stop Four
You won’t have to travel by sea
To find an ode to the Cherokee.
Flowing down steps and
Across from River Journey,
There you will find a sight for sore eyes,
Not too far from where the cars drive by.
5. Stop Five
In this painted reef,
Whiskers dive where fishes dart,
Furry adventure tiles, underwater art.
Near a room to escape
And Thai food grin,
Brick-framed on Market,
A feline that swims.
6. Stop Six
If you travel across Market and up along 1st,
You will spot a set of sculptures filtering water from storms.
These local stones are too large to throw,
But sit and enjoy a treat before going home.
7. Stop Seven
On second thought,
Take your treat to go…
And cross the silver bridge.
Walk a curved path between the Hunter and the Houston
On the back of the Bluff, just a smidge.
A silver infinity loop,
Like a metal fish leaping -
A large form on a pedestal
Towards a hill that drops steeply.
It represents the river
And a ribcage uncurling,
Like the swirl of a music note
Towards a vista unfurling.
8. Stop Eight
South of the overlook, a gate you will pass
To find scattered boulders upon the grass.
A spiral path,
Ten dark blue eyes,
Cranium totems beneath the sky.
What is the name of this place?
9. Stop Nine
A Golden opportunity
to step on someone’s feet.
From the Merengue to the Waltz,
Look on Frazier Street.
10. Stop Ten
Don’t be too quick to leave the Northshore behind!
It is big, strong, and its skin is not thin.
It is not the color of its usual kin.
You may spot a horn, but it’s not a unicorn.
Its feet stay pristine, but its wheels are worn.
Congratulations! You have completed the Scavenger Hunt!
We hope you discovered some good finds! If your feet are tired, you can catch a ride on Carta’s Free Northshore Electric Shuttle to get back across the river. If you are wondering what to do next, stop by our Chattanooga Information Center on the Aquarium Plaza for some tips!
