Southside
The Southside neighborhood is flourishing with restaurants, small businesses, galleries, entertainment, and nightlife. Spanning the area between 12th and 20th streets, this district is anchored by the historic Chattanooga Choo Choo. You can find a bit of everything here whether it’s beer in a train car at American Draft, coffee by day and wine by night at Frothy Monkey, cocktails at STIR, and live music on the patio at Backstage Bar.
At night, pedestrian-friendly Station Street comes alive with revelers, delicious food and drinks, and live music with spots light The Boneyard, or get to dancing at Westbound Honky Tonk or Regan's Place. For more nightlife, you’ve got you’ve got options like Hi-Fi Clyde's, Southside Social, and Whiskey Cowgirl. You’ll want to check out the local brews at Five Wits or Wanderlinger and don’t miss Chattanooga Whiskey’s Experimental Distillery for an informative tour and whiskey sampling.
No matter the time of day, there’s something delicious to eat in this neighborhood! You’d have to stay a week to check out all the breakfast/brunch options, but won’t want to miss Bluegrass Grill, Niedlov’s, or Kenny’s Southside Sandwiches. In the evening, Main Street Meats, both a butcher shop and restaurant is a good pick for dinner and cocktails. And don’t forget dessert! Sample hot chocolate and sweets at Hot Chocolatier, or head to Clumpie’s for creative, homemade ice cream.
Between grazing the good eats of the neighborhood, the Southside is a great place to just wander. You’ll encounter tons of public art, hidden parks like Main Terrain Art Park, and locals out enjoying the neighborhood.
