“Through these surveys, we hope to gain a better understanding of the locals’ perceptions of tourism and its potential impact on their quality of life. Their invaluable feedback will help us become better destination stewards, build stronger relationships with community stakeholders, and help influence decision making and policy development,” said Barry White, president and CEO of Chattanooga Tourism Co.
The tourism industry impacts every single resident, making it critical to have a strong, community-wide representation. The Tourism Co. needs your help in taking the survey, and sharing with teammates, family, and friends. To make it easy to share content, the Tourism Co. developed a Chattanooga Tourism Sentiment Surveys Toolkit with sample copy, social media posts, graphics, and more.
To stay on top of community needs and sentiments, the Tourism Co. plans to repeat these sentiment surveys every few years. Regularly collecting data insights allows the organization to evaluate the impact of tourism on the community and make necessary adjustments to improve tourism planning and development.
White added, "Successful communities are built through collaboration, not by one person or organization. It takes the combined efforts of residents, stakeholders, and destination leadership. We are committed to working closely with local businesses and residents to create inclusive and impactful tourism strategies that benefit everyone. Together, we can elevate the Chattanooga experience for all."
The final survey results will be available in early 2025.
